Participants of the M&E workshop, Amman

Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is an integral component of the IFAD-funded, ICARDA-led project on ‘Integrated pest management and organic fertilization in Iraq’. The project’s second M&E training workshop was held in Amman, Jordan, 9-10 November, with five participants from the four Iraqi governorates where the project is being implemented. Experts from Palestine delivered intensive training on different M&E tools: focal group discussion to assess stakeholders’ opinions, indicators to measure outputs, and reporting methods to maximize M&E effectiveness. This builds on a previous workshop conducted in August, and has considerably strengthened the capacity of Iraqi partners to implement the project effectively and on schedule. The workshop was attended by IFAD’s Country Program Manager, Ms. Taghrid Laham.
